Office client opens files on SharePoint (as Network Drive) as they are stored locally
Hello there, in our organization we have SharePoint on premise mapped as a Network Drive in every Windows machine. Of course we know it isn't the optimal configuration, in fact every now and then...

I updated to the last version of Office and in fact I now have the same issue too.
ZeeDrive is not an option just because we're migrating to SharePoint online this Summer, and we will not replicate the mapped drive configuration, otherwise it's a great solution.
I tried using SharePoint as a Network Path, not sure it's a solution for all users, since we'd have to install it on all machines, and shortcuts to folder work a little different, but it's a temporary solution for me.
I'm now checking options in the Protection Center (I don't know if it's the real name in English since I'm Italian).

Ah, I missed that you were using SharePoint on-premise. Zee Drive is for SharePoint Online only. Thank you for your kind words about Zee Drive and good luck with your migration!
