Lost ability to edit docm files

At some point I lost the ability to open/edit and save changes on docm files saved in Sharepoint 2010 or TCTO.  This was never an issue previously. I can check version history and see I was able to make changes back in July, but now nothing.  We recently updated to Office 2002. But not sure if this is the issue.  Any help would be appreciated.
