I can't edit excel online file in document library

We have an excel document saved to our SharePoint Document Library and for some reason I'm unable to edit the document. My permission is set to Full Control for the document library. I'm able to edit the other documents in the library but this excel document. For some there's this read-only, no edits icon that appears next to the document name. How can I re-gain the ability to edit the excel document.
