Formatting changes

Hi,   I hope someone can help me. I work on MS word and create files that range from 10 to 200 pages. These files have extensive, but simple formatting (mainly the font type and size, tabs, line ...

Where are the files stored? I know with auto save and SharePoint / OneDrive going to open files by default, the online version of word online could be opening and auto saving it's method of formatting when someone opens the documents. You should be able to roll this back via version history, but you'll have to go into your library and advanced options and tell it not to open in web clients to prevent this possibly.

    Hi Christopher,

    Thanks for the prompt reply. I store the files on my laptop and I am the only user; so, I think that the format of the files should not change. Can you tell me what could be causing the change.

      Are they sync'ed with OneDrive?

        Hi Christopher,

         

        I don't think that the files are synced; how can one check? If the files are not synced, what could be the cause.

        I observed today that the margins of the pages change and that causes the overflow of the pages. I tried changing the margins, but to no avail; quite a few other settings were disturbed with that and the whole file gets messed up. I think it happens only after I give a print or print preview command. I checked the settings in the print dialogue, and they are the same as what I used before this issue started.
