Filter with search bar for lookup columns (in sharepoint list)
I have a sharepoint list that has a number of lookup columns (these columns are single line text columns).
When viewing the list - I can filter the lookup columns using a checkbox, but there is no search bar in the filter pane. The search bar appears for other columns that were created in the list, but search bars do not appear for lookup columns.
Any solutions? Thanks.

July 2025, good to see I'm not alone! We could really use an update for this please Microsoft. It would be very useful to be able to search lookup columns in the same way as text columns. We have lookup columns that can contain a few thousand unique values, and if people want to filter that column, they have to scroll down a giant alphabetical list. Grateful for your input.
June 2025. Still not search for Lookup columns in the now Microsoft Lists. Please add this Microsoft.
Yes it is a super pain in the neck and it is now 2024 - 4 years since reported and they've done nothing about it.
Their products are truly getting worse. I fear that the once great company they were is coming to an end...
