Document previews and using the file viewer
Sharepoint online document previews are too small for our needs There is one folder within a document library structure which we would like to see the previews much larger. We've set up a new page with a 1/3 - 2/3 column structure with the file viewer in column 2.
Is there a way of setting up column 1 to link to a specific folder within the document library and the viewer to link to that folder? Currently all I've found is both columns to link to a library.
Or is there an alternative way to get bigger document previews?? Help appreciated.
That's possible to show document from particular folder in Document Library and connect File Viewer Web part with it. Instead of 1/3-2/3 column, I would suggest to use Vertical Section for documents and one column layout for file preview for bigger file preview.
Let's say you have document library where you want to show document from Test Folder
- Go the your page and add one column layout section and one vertical section
- Add Document Library web part in Vertical Section and Set Folder property by relative path of your folder from which you want to show documents
- Now add File Viewer web part and connect it to document library web part
Now save your page and you will get your desired output. Select any document from Document Library web part and preview will be generated for that document on left side

- Thanks for this, I am trying to achieve the same end result but instead of selecting documents from a library to preview, I would like to click on Document Sets in a library and preview specific Content Types in the set. Can you offer any advice please?
