cannot connect to the shareponit link to a group

My team leader added my personal email (not outlook) to the sharepoint site. But when I clicked the link,it showed that " you can't sign in here with a personal account. Use your work or school account instead." So how can I connect to the site? My organizational account has not been created yet, but I need to visit the site for documents and information....
