Adding SP DB to availability group

when a sharepoint 2013 database is added to SQL Server Availability Group, does that process have any affect on the availability of the SP farm?

  • If your SharePoint farm is already pointing at the AG endpoint, then no adding a database to the AG does not cause the database to become unavailable.

Thanks for the confirmation. I trust your answer more than the previous one i received :)

  • Since adding the database also involves syncing with secondary replica server the failover switch always does a farm shutdown and restart.
