Timescale shows 1984

Running Project OnLine Desktop Client and recently the project timescale has begun to show 1/1/1984. Resizing the window or Zoom Entire Project brings the timescale back to the correct view. Save and re-open the project and again the timescale shows 1984. Project start date is correct and line 0 shows correct start/end dates.
Opening a project that I have not saved (peer's project) and everything looks good. If a save the file and open it, the behavior comes back to 1984.
Any thoughts?
