Simple Question...Units

Hi,

I'm new to Microsoft Project and I've run into quite a few issues. Most of which I was able to solve watching videos. However, I can't seem to figure out how to change the percentage someone works per day.

Example: Employee A is working on a task that is 7 days long but for one of those days I want them to work 80% on a particular day while they work on something else. I've tried going into the Resource Usage View to edit it there and I thought that was working until I realized that only changed the work and did not adjust/increase for the duration of the task.

Any suggestions welcomed!

I usually use assignment units as my starting point, then switch over to the task usage view to edit the hours by day/week/month directly. You can change the scale using the ribbon.
