Set automatic dependencies between different tasks of the same resource

The simple answer to your question is "no". In Project dependencies are between tasks, independent of when a resource is available.
The process of setting up a plan is to define what needs to be done (tasks), set up dependencies between those tasks to form a logical sequence of execution to reach an end goal. Once that is in place, appropriate resources are assigned to accomplish each task. If after assigning resources, overallocation occurs (i.e. a resource is assigned for more hours than that resource's max units), Project will indicate that with a "red" man symbol. The project manger can then manually adjust assignments or use Project's leveling functionality to help alleviate overallocations.
Project does not optimize the plan, there are just too many variables to make that a feasible option.
