Protecting MS Project data for use in Power BI

Hello,

In my organization, all staff have a Project Essential license to fill in time sheets but unfortunately this gives them access to a link that allows them to use MS project data in a Power BI file. Is it possible to cut off access to their data via MS project? Or through Power BI?

Thank you for your time

  • Duyck_Guillaume Yes, it's possible. If you can I'd advise you try this in a test environment first.

    1. Go to Server Settings
    2. Under Security click Manage Groups.
    3. Click and open Team Members group.
    4. Go to Categories section and select My Tasks.
    5. Go to the Global Permissions Table, find the General section.
    6. Find Access Project Server Reporting Service option and uncheck Allow/Deny checkboxes.
    7. Click Save
    8. If you are using other Groups repeat the previous steps to ensure you disable this permission.
