Project Server:Build a datawarehouse

Hi everyone,

 

I am totally new in Datawarehouse and I'm just asking if there is an utility to build a datawarehouse with Project sever Data
Or these databases are already optimize to build report? Or am I just wrong in my understanding of a datawarehouse? A datawarehouse should be build for Historical data or Integration with other system but if the only purpose is to create reports with data from Project Server a datawarehouse is not required?

    Hello Toxicboumboum ,

    It really depends on your requirements. I guess from the name used you are using Project Server on-premises? If so, with Project Server, there is a reporting schema in the database that you can query for reports. This has been optimised for reporting. You could extract the data out from the reporting schema into another database / data warehouse solution if required - for example if you want to build a monthly snapshot etc.
