Project Online - saved location

In Project Online, project sites (SharePoint sites) are only created automatically if you set the Enterprise Project Type (EPT) to do so like below:
To check this, as a PWA Administrator go to PWA Settings > Enterprise Project Types > Click on the EPT name to view / update the settings. Update the settings as needed.
If the EPT does allow sites to be created and it is not automatic, you can create a site manually as a PWA admin user from the PWA Settings > Connected SharePoint Sites menu option. Selecting a row / project on the grid will enable the Create Site button if there is no site for that project:If the project already as a site, you can see the link there also.
As an end user you can also access the project site (if the project has one) from the project details page in PWA as seen below:
