Project for the web tasks in To-do app

Nico Although this is not a feature, it is quite simple to do using 2 flows in PowerAutomate... I have developed just this. First flow creates a task on the Assigned To in P4W. Second flow monitors the Task GUID for changes in ToDo / Tasks and updates P4W tasks when changes are made outside of P4W.

Another option is to trigger and email to the user assigned the task and then use PA to flag the email if the subject contains... auto putting the task in ToDo etc

Or us adaptive cards to make an interactive email or Teams post to a channel so you still have access through the day to day toolset.

All the PA flows use the Project and Projects Tasks tables in Dataverse which is where the P4W data lives.

Loads of options if MS don't implement this, although would be far better if it was part of the standard offering, I agree.

internationalcio Yes, unfortunate its not showing up in the development roadmap anymore. They've added a cryptic line stating "This item will be republished in the future with updated information." Thanks for the info. I think this is a key point to roll out MS Project. A user who only has to solve a task from a project shouldn't need to have licence niether other place that the ToDo app to manage the task. If project has a board view similar to Planner, why we cannot manage our tasks assigned in Todo like we do with Planner tasks...?.

In my case, the roll out of the tool is generally stopped due to only this small point.

Post has been edited to add details on the new Planner experience.

Hi internationalcio , so it looks like Microsoft is folding Project for the Web into Planner. Planner shall, going forward, have 2 tiers - the Basic one (which we are all familiar with), and a Premium tier (which is essentially Project for the Web). You can see details in this YouTube video they uploaded yesterday: https://youtu.be/jwGQPWAihjQ?feature=shared&t=110 All the tasks, including the ones on Planner Premium (current Project for the web) can be managed through the central To-do app or 'Assigned to me' view. They claim that this will be rolled out in early 2024, but we'll have to wait and watch if this timeline is indeed kept. Existing Project for the Web users will have access tot the premium offerings at no extra cost.
