Project for the Web / New Planner
We currently use Project for the Web. I have been told that it will become obsolete and be replaced by the NEW Planner - is this correct?
If so, is it simple to transition over?
What do we need to do, to ensure that we have a continuous project management tool?
Is there a 'hard' end date for Project for the web?

No, Project for the Web will not become obsolete. It will be rolled into Planner, where Planner projects and P4TW projects can live "side by side" so to speak. Both tools will return their own functionality. Hope this helps.- Myra_DPHCopper Contributor
When using Project for the Web, there is a button that allows you to open your Schedule Tasks in Planner. This automatically takes you to the web version of Planner. Is there any way we can open it in the desktop Project Application? Dale_HowardMVP

No, this is not possible. Projects can be IMPORTED from Microsoft Project to Project for the Web, but they cannot be EXPORTED from Project for the Web back to Microsoft Project. Sorry, but hope this helps.
