Open MS Project file in Project Plan 3
- May 01, 2024
Sara_Katz For starters, are you using MS Project Online (MSPO) or Project for the Web (PFTW)?
If you are using MSPO there are different versions of MSP Desktop. One will connect to MSPO and the other will not. Your org may need to update the version you're using and reinstall MSP on everyone's machine.
If you're using PFTW, I'd recommend you review the feature availability for each license type in the link below as there are differences between what a Plan 1 and Plan 3 license can do.

Here is a summary of the differences. Also a Plan 1 license does not get an install of MSP desktop software.Feature Category Feature Plan 1 Plan 3 Project, task, and time management Task History No Yes Collaboration and Agile Task Conversations Yes1 Yes1 Advanced Resource and Schedule management Advanced Dependencies View only Yes Roadmaps View only Yes Critical path No Yes Assignments View No Yes Create resource requests2 View only Yes Accept a booking proposal2 View only Yes Use Project with custom tables5 5 15 Power Automate Workflows and Business Process Flows6 Define Power Automate Business Process flows that utilize Project data including custom tables and columns. Can I export to MPP file format from Project Plan 3 ?
