Open MS Project file in Project Plan 3
- May 01, 2024
Sara_Katz For starters, are you using MS Project Online (MSPO) or Project for the Web (PFTW)?
If you are using MSPO there are different versions of MSP Desktop. One will connect to MSPO and the other will not. Your org may need to update the version you're using and reinstall MSP on everyone's machine.
If you're using PFTW, I'd recommend you review the feature availability for each license type in the link below as there are differences between what a Plan 1 and Plan 3 license can do.

Dale_HowardMVP Thank you for the reply. I was able to import an mpp. All of my coworkers still have MS Project Desktop application and when I requested it from my IT department, they provided me with plan 3. I honestly wish I had the desktop app because this seems different than the desktop app
Thanks,
Sara

- Sara_KatzMay 01, 2024Copper ContributorI was told by my IT I was assigned an 0365 Online Project Plan 3, which should be available in your 0365 suite. I do not have any version of MSP Desktop.
- Sara_KatzMay 01, 2024Copper ContributorThank you for the insight. I went back to my O365 Account and saw the Plan 3 subscription and that the Project app was now available to me to install. I now have the Desktop app installed and the Plan 3 subscription applied.
- Sara_KatzMay 01, 2024Copper ContributorMy IT department never told me that now that the subscription is available in my O365 suite I can Install the MS Project app. I went back to my suite and saw that MS Project is available for install and I can also see my Plan 3 subscription in the account. I think that was the key. I am installing the App now
