Open and Edit Project for web projects in Desktop client

There is no solution to your current problem, as it is NOT possible to open and edit Project for the Web projects in the Microsoft Project desktop application. Based on your needs, I think you may be a bit premature in migrating to Project for the Web. I think you would be better served by using the Microsoft Project desktop application until Project for the Web meets all of your needs and expectations. Regarding WHEN Project for the Web will meet your needs, I do not work for Microsoft, so I cannot give you an answer. Hope this helps.

Dale_HowardMVP actually it wasnt really a choice. Needed Project tab in Teams, which is possible only with Project online. But then it is useless app with super limited features, so the project needs to be edited in Project app in Windows and not online. There is a button to connect to Project Web App in Microsoft Project app, but no address I tried works. Any tips? Thanks!

I had previously seen the button you described in the model-driven app (Project for the Web in Dynamics 365 CRM), but the button did nothing, as you have found out. I believe the button is a relic from a much earlier version of this tool. So, no, there is nothing more that you can do. All I can recommend is that you pick a tool and live with its limitations. Hope this helps.
