MS Project mime type is Application/vnd.ms-office

In all my years of working with Microsoft Project, I have never encountered a question like yours. I suspect that is the experience of others in this user forum as well, which is probably why you have not gotten a reply from anyone.
Out of curiosity, when you create a new blank project, and then click File > Save As > Browse, what file type do you see in the Save As Type field at the bottom of the Save As dialog? Do you see Project (*.mpp) or something else? If you see something else, what file type do you see in the dialog? Let us know and we will try to help you.
