Hi John, great, thanks. I would appreciate if you could help me out: how to create a team resource? And can I take care of absences from individuals or do I have to add all availabilities to one capa?

If you're using the desktop version of Project I can show you how but if you're using Project Online or Project for the Web, I'll have to defer to one of my colleagues.
However, one thing you lose with group resources is the ability to individually set up resource calendars for vacations, part time or other deviations from the standard calendar.
