MS Project: combine many resources into a team (because total available capacity should be taken)

You do not need a resource pool to do what you want. All you need to do is create team resources (i.e. Designers, Testers, etc.) and set that resource's Max Unit value equal to the number of members on the team. For example, if you have 5 people on the Designers team and each is a full time employee, you'd set the Max Unit value to 500%. You will be able to assign that resource to any single or multiple tasks and you won't get an overallocation unless the max unit value is exceeded.

If you're using the desktop version of Project I can show you how but if you're using Project Online or Project for the Web, I'll have to defer to one of my colleagues.
However, one thing you lose with group resources is the ability to individually set up resource calendars for vacations, part time or other deviations from the standard calendar.
