Does MS Project have any wildcards outside of '^' or '?' ?

I've used the "?" for an 'enter date' dialog box within applying a filter; I'm try to learn how to use the '^' OR '*' in applying a filter or in conjunction with other wildcards in a filter/custom field. Any suggestion and examples would/will be appreciated. Cheers.
- Why? It would help if we knew what you were trying to do, and whether you need wildcards at all. Please explain more and we we will try to help you.
