Issues with task priority and ressource
Hello,
I have an issue in MS Project while scheduling my project based on my resources and task priorities.
I have 2 projects: Lot 1 (priority 700) and Lot 2 (priority 600 hence less prioritized).
I have a resource named "D-Q" which is assigned very late to my task "[Lot 1] A" (see yellow line in the picture), resulting in the task finishing on 10/10/25. Project assigns my resource "D-Q" to tasks in Lot 2 (see green lines in the picture) which are less prioritized, but I don't understand why.
Furthermore, my resource "D-Q" is not assigned to any task for 3 weeks (from 18/08 to 07/09) ?
I get these issues after updating the project from 16/07/25 and leveling all resources. And my task type is "Fixed Units" .
Thank you in advance for your help 🙂

Thank you for the feedback. I managed to solve my issues by starting from a blank file.
However, I would like to manage a resource of 4 people by adjusting the max unit. But I have 2 problems: I would like each of the 4 people to be at 90%, so should I set a resource with a max unit at "360%"? My second problem is how to manage the holidays of each of these 4 people, how can I do that ?

SPA 10,
With regard to your 4 resources. If you created a single group resource to represent the 4 individuals, then yes, you can set the Max Units for the group at 360%. However, that will NOT limit each of the individuals to 90%, it will only limit the group's total allocation to 360%.
And since you ask how to manage holidays for each of the 4 individuals, the only way to do that is to identify each of the 4 resources as a separate resource. Then you can set each resource's Max Unit value to 90% AND create custom resource calendars to identify holidays for each resource. However, are there common holidays for all 4 resources (e.g. Country or company holidays)? It's best to create a custom Project calendar with all the common holidays. Don't just modify the existing Standard calendar but create a new custom calendar, perhaps based on the Standard.
Once the common holidays are defined in the Project calendar, you can then customize each resource's calendar exceptions for such things as vacation, unique work hours (e.g. half time employee), or other individual time off.

SPA10,
Sorry, it's a little difficult to follow your screen shot since it is the French version and I unfortunately am limited to English. However, I do notice a few things with your plan.
- Most of the tasks have a constraint yet they still have a predecessor. Constraints will severally limit Project's ability to dynamically schedule a plan and also adversely affects the resource leveling algorithm
- You say "D-Q" is assigned late in its task span but without seeing the constraint date it is impossible to say when the 4 hour assignment is scheduled. For example, maybe "D-Q" is assigned the 4 hours on the first day of Lot 1 task 11.
- As far as "D-Q"s assignments in Lot 2, it looks normal. The resource is assigned to tasks 26 & 27. Because you leveled, the assignment on task 27 was shifted to alleviate overallocation.
- You say you updated the project from July 16. What exactly does that mean?
So, without more definitive information, I can't provide further insight.
