Issues with not using Effort in P4W

My team will not be using the Effort feature in Project for the Web (P4W), meaning that they will not be marking something as 25% done, 50% done, etc. We just find that too cumbersome for the number of tasks one person has and it is not needed for us at this time. Not changing Effort currently causes P4W to assume you have not started a task, and it then assumes the task is late. This is a big issue when the data is pulled into my PowerBI report. Any task that hasn't had Effort adjusted is counted as late. Is there a work around here in either P4W of PowerBI that will fix this issue? Thanks.

If the task has a % Complete value of 0%, Project for the Web and Power BI assume the task has not started. Why don't you use a simpler version of % Complete tracking to make it easier for your PM and the team members? If a task has not started, leave the % Complete value to 0%. If a task is currently in-progress, set the % Complete value to 50%. This does not mean that the task is half-done; it simply means the work is progressing. And when the task is completed, set the % Complete value to 100%. I have known of companies who have successfully used this simplified version of % Complete tracking for large project. Just a thought. Hope this helps.
