How to deal with facultative processes ?
Hi, please tell me how you work with facultative processes in MS Project ? How do you figure the prior decision in MS Project if yes or no ? Regards, mainze5

Interesting question. I had to look up the definition of facultative to fully understand your question. I think you are asking how to handle situations where a decision will be made to either do something or NOT do something. Am I correct in that assumption?
If that is the case, what I would do is to add every task needed in the project on the assumption that the answer to each facultative question will be "yes". Enter Durations for every task and set task dependencies for all tasks. Then, if the answer is "No" to any facultative question, set the tasks to Inactive status for all tasks that will not be done as a result of the decision. NOTE: To use the Inactivate Task feature, you must have the Professional version of Microsoft Project, as this feature is not available in the Standard version of the software. Hope this helps.
