Critical task bars stopped turning red

Hello folks,

My Critical task names and milestones are still showing Red but the critical task bars are not red.  i haven't changed any settings.  up until today, both task names and bars turned red when critical.  what could have caused this to change?  any help appreciated. or, what the fix?

    Did you add any new Gantt bar styles (Gantt Chart Format > Bar Styles > Format)? If so, it's possible the new bar style is overriding the Critical bar style. If that's the case, you'll need to re-configure the bar styles list so the bar style for critical tasks is at the bottom.

    It's also possible the Gantt Chart view is corrupt.
    1. Switch to another view (e.g. Task Sheet)
    2. Go to the Organizer > Views tab
    3. On the right side selection list, select Gantt Chart and then, Delete.
    The Gantt Chart view will then revert back to the original Global Gantt Chart. Does the problem still exist?

     

    It could also be other things but let's see what the above yields.

      thanks John for your reply.  regarding gantt bars/styles, I did Not modify any bar styles. i will give your second option a try.

    Pardon me for "bumping" into this conversation. In your question, you state, "My Critical task names and milestones are still showing Red but the critical task bars are not red." I do not understand what you mean by "My Critical task names and milestones are still showing Red." Where do you see this "Red" value? Is it in a custom field of some type?

    To know if a task is truly a Critical task or not, apply the Gantt Chart view and then insert the Total Slack column and the Critical column. If a task has a Total Slack value of 0 days and the task is NOT a completed task, you will see the a Yes value in the Critical cell for that task. Also, if you have formatted the Gantt Chart screen to display Critical tasks using a red Gantt bar, you should also see a red Gantt bar for this task. If a task is a completed task, or if the task has a Total Slack value greater than 0d, then you will see a No value in the Critical cell for that task, and the task's Gantt bar will be blue.

    Is that explanation any help with your problem? Please let us know WHERE you are seeing the "My Critical task names and milestones are still showing Red" information as well. Thanks.
