Change the lookup table for Project Departments or Resource Departments

I have some bad news for you, my friend. Once a lookup table has been selected for a custom field, and then the custom field has been created, it is IMPOSSIBLE to choose a different lookup table for that custom field. If you are not too far down the road on creating on your Project Online instance, I would recommend you start with a fresh instance. Sorry for the bad news, but hope this helps.
