Bulk Edit Not Working
- Sep 27, 2023All --
I have the same version of Microsoft Project that others are using. I just did an extensive test on the features in the Multiple Task Information dialog, and can confirm that NOTHING is working in this dialog. I tried changing the Duration for a block of tasks. No go. I tried changing the constraint type to As Soon as Possible to a block of tasks, each of which has a SNET constraint applied, and no go again. It is obvious that Microsoft has introduced a bug into Microsoft Project, and this bug NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I will report this bug to my contacts within Microsoft to see if they can get the fix moving. Thanks so much to all for reporting this.
Kdekruif I had the same issue and realised that it was because in my bulk selection, summary tasks were included. This process was working just fine before but then it just stopped. Upon multiple attempts I noticed that I could only bulk edit when no summary task was selected. So whenever I needed to edit all tasks from "Fixed Work" to "Fixed Duration" for example, I had to first untick the "Summary Tasks" box in the "Gantt Chart Format", bulk edit all tasks, then tick the "Summary Tasks" box again. It worked for even calendars.
Regardless of the field referenced in the Multiple Task information tabs, for value replacement to occur, either the project summary task, or all summary tasks, or none, must be deselected, an error appeared in this regard, preventing any application of value replacement for multiple selected tasks, which did not occur before.
In December 2023, this error was fixed with the version updates published by Microsoft, as I already mentioned in this same thread on December 18 of the same year.
In any case, your observation is appreciated.
