why we can not create planner plans inside Microsoft Teams private and shared channels
Not sure this makes sense, because we are able to add other applications, like notes. So what is the difference between that and Planner?
The purpose of Teams Channel is to interact and create communities for sharing details. If locked channels are meant to be "only for discussions" we already have the chat for that, and there we can add any app we like.
So this private channel becomes useless and I'm wondering what the purpose should be having it there? Just allow us to link a chat that can be "private" and then people are able to add any application they seem fit.
The use case we have is to have a Teams Group with selected channels, a mix of private and open. This would be for instance to manage requests before they are made public or released. So having a private channel to discuss various items and to be able to have a Planner board to manage it would be very useful. There are of course ways to get around it, just seems a shame not to be able to utilize the private channels in this way.
I agree with everyone on this post. This is a hindrance and something that MS should update in the near future. Often, a private channel in TEAMS needs Planner to collaborate. Other aps can be added to the private channel, so why not Planner.
