Suggested attachments in Planner
Hi, Microsoft rolled out this feature recently. Does this feature satisfy the Planner users? Let's deep dive and check.
Admin center defines this feature as “Planner will recommend related files to attach to your tasks”. Let us dive deep and check what is there.
What are suggested attachments in Planner?
This new Planner feature allows users to quickly add attachments to their tasks from an intelligently curated list of relevant files. The recommendations are based on the task and the user.

- RayBrackCopper ContributorCan we at least get a "Show less" option to hide the suggestions. The list is not "intelligently curated" as it continues to show options that have absolutely no relevance.
- Henning_ZeumerCopper ContributorUnfortunately the Microsoft developer team doesn't react adequately and timely to the many requests here for option to turn this feature off. Fortunately it doesn't appear in the Teams App...

Please add a disable function to this. it's always wrong and takes up valuable real estate.
please and thank you
- ggrinsteCopper ContributorI created an idea for a removal option for this feature here:
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/tech-community-ideas/remove-option-suggested-attachments-from-ms-planner/idi-p/3484705 - davidpoonIron ContributorThis feature makes no sense and has caused some confusion among our teams. The confusion comes about because the suggested attachments looks like actual attachments on first glance, leading to unnecessary questions and difficulty in understanding an assigned task. Why would a user be interested in seeing suggested attachments when he/she is the recipient of the assigned task?
Is there a way to turn this section off in admin btw? - JyoungPakFabCopper Contributor
SanthoshB1 This feature adds no value for me, and 100% of the time it is recommending files that have no relevance to the task at all. This actually causes more confusion than anything and uses up valuable screen space. A much more useful feature would be to allow dragging and dropping files onto the task to enable adding actually relevant files to the task quickly. There needs to be a way to turn off features like this.

JyoungPakFab Totally agree. Our team hates this feature and new team members find it confusing. The rest of us just ignore it.

JyoungPakFab I have felt the same when using this feature. But message center says "This new Planner feature allows users to quickly add attachments to their tasks from an intelligently curated list of relevant files. The recommendations are based on the task and the user.". So, I guess the recommendations will show relevant results as days go on using Planner. Currently there is no way to turnoff this feature.
- AlexBarker180Copper ContributorGood feature but can an option be added to turn it off? My Plans are all fully automated via Flow with checklists and links to SharePoint for all the information required, and the suggested attachments section are unnecessary clutter for us.
