Show Start Date

I think it would be beneficial to show the Start Date on Cards in the Board view:

or with Start and End:

and as well as a column in the List View

Our company is contemplating switching to MS Planner from another service to leverage our use of o365, but the lack of start date functionality could severely limit our ability to make the transition. To be honest, I'm not really sure how you're supposed to keep track of what's currently assigned to you and expected to be worked on if you can't even sort or filter by start date.

Even worse, if you have a flow that peels and creates tasks from another application, you have to initially reverse sort (from that other application or in your flow) because tasks are created from the top down: i.e., if you have a task that you anticipate starting 1 May (and also other tasks that you know will fall later in the month), you have to add the later-month tasks first, so those tasks are lower in the task list and then work backwards so the first task that displays in the list (representing a task starting earlier in the month) is on top. Thus, it would be nice to sort by start date, so it doesn't matter when I add a task during the month, I can always have that earlier task at the top of my list.

I was wondering, was this never solved?

I would love to have the start date on the List view, but it doesn't seem possible

No, this has never been resolved. Heck, you can't even sort by start date (even thought it is a distinct entry on the task card)

    Agreed!

I am in multiple Plans that use the schedule feature; each of these teams expect Planner tasks to have a start and a end date.   For example: a document review.  Surely that can be reflected better in the UI.

One place that it could definitely be added is under "Assigned to me".  In that dashboard, we should be able to group by start date.  That should be low hanging fruit.

For any teams trying to implement Kanban/Scrumban this is essential

Yes! My organization moves on a first come, first served basis. Right now I replicate the Start Date in the Description and show it on the task card (but I would prefer the Checklist on the card, but you can't have both).

Also, I create tasks 30+ at a time, so being able to see (or even sort) on the Start Date is essential.
