00thomson, we may be getting closer to MS doing this. We're halfway up the second page of hottest feature requests to MS. Just 21 more votes (7 less than a few weeks ago even as other requests also received up-votes) to reach page 1 of their requests.
If this still matters to you, and you've not already voted, please consider voting for it and getting your colleagues to vote for it here: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/cd2c8f5e-5421-ee11-a81d-0022484cae1d
There is no guarantee that just because it reaches page 1 they'll address it, but it significantly increases the likelihood, especially if our comments make it clear how and why we need it. Probably helps to keep them constructive and actionable too.

00thomson we migrated to the new "To Do" tool a couple years ago, however, it has the exact same issue. You still can't paste images or snippets into the Add note field.
- GraniteStateColinFeb 04, 2024Iron ContributorIt seems like Microsoft really screwed up the architecture of this, using a text field instead of a field that can hold images and other non-text formatting and objects. I believe they carried this design over from the text fields associated with Tasks in the very powerful Microsoft Project. But where that was acceptable in Project due to its timeline and % complete focus, it's completely broken in a Planner app, which is designed from the start to work like a Scrum or Kanban Board.
This is why their first step to addressing this was to add the ability to include formatting (Bold, Italic, etc.) into the main description field, BUT they still haven't made any updates to the Comments fields. I think they must still be years away from actually fixing this critical deficiency compared with competing solutions like Asana, Trello, Jira, and every other Scrum or Kanban style project management system on the market.- J_A_G2185Mar 20, 2024Copper Contributor
Not being able to paste pictures on Microsoft Planner is a significant drawback for users who rely on visual aids for effective communication and task management. Without image support, tasks and comments lack the clarity and context that pictures provide, potentially leading to misunderstandings and reduced productivity. I am not using it as much as I could because of this downside.
Microsoft please listen!
