Planner has different languages on the web and desktop app (in a Teams tab).

Brian-Smith thank you for your support. I found the solution myself. The language settings from the browser change the menu's but only if you go to the browser via Teams and not if you go directly via the planner.cloud.microsoft. But if you navigate via Teams to Planner then suddenly the browser language settings do become important. I have just made the primary language of my browser English and now, also when I navigate from Teams to Planner on the web it shows it in English.
Rémi HENRY we are currently reviewing the language behavior for Planner. To understand the language you see it can be driven by different settings. Navigating directly to tasks.office.com (The web interface for Planner) will use your preferred language. In Teams we aim to honor the language setting in Teams to avoid any difference between the Teams interface and Planner. One other behavior you may see is that navigation from the App Launcher may get a language appended to the link (such as en-US) and then this will over-ride your preferred language. What language do you have defined in Teams? (And yes, before you ask, it would be nice to just have one setting that all the applications followed).
Best regards,
Brian Smith

Brian-Smith I have the same issue. English is my preferred language everywhere in the office environment but if I navigate from Teams to Planner Planner becomes Dutch. If I go directly via the web to Planner, Planner is in English.
- Brian-SmithOct 14, 2024Former EmployeeThanks for reporting this Iris, and could you please open a support case, and also confirm if when you navigate from Teams the Url contains nl-nl? I suspect this redirection from Teams is somehow forcing that Url which will override your preferences. Ping me the case number too so I can keep an eye on it at brian.smith@microsoft.com.

Brian-Smith the case responsible will handle the case but I can tell you that the url when I navigate froom Teams contains nl-BE and if if directly go to the browser it is en-GB that's the problem. The navigation from Teams somewhere changes that and the weird this is my settings are not Dutch.
