Planner Actions
I used to use project for the web for high-level project plans and planner for actions, but as Project is now embedded within Planner, it means anytime I just want an action that should not be on the project plan appears on the project plan if its done in planner.
How can I fix this, or how is actions now managed?

I agree this is a big challenge. Some people use checklists within tasks for actions but those are not assignable and you have to overload the checklist text to include assignee, due date and that's too much friction / extra work and unstructured so can't really be mined. Comments with @ mentions would at least be something and then the ability to close a comment could be helpful if (when) MS adds true commenting on tasks. Until then, I'm drawing a blank.
