PFH_abby unfortunately yes. This method adds the user to the M365 Group, which means they have access to all of your group planner boards, Team channels, SharePoint site and anything else your group uses.

At minimum, it should have been available in Shared Teams, unfortunately it isn't.
Now we need to create numerous teams and assign tasks at various locations if we would like to keep confidentiality between different projects.- PerLangeApr 06, 2023Copper ContributorIt is not easy to understand why a task cannot be assigned to a non-group member without any other access. At my workplace we are 6000 people. Of course sometimes I need to involve other people in my tasks. BUT I do not want to have them to access neither my other tasks nor the group itself. Please Microsoft fix this!
