How to track the project or task time in hours

If Microsoft would at least include the times with the Created Date and Completed Date fields when exporting to Excel, this could at least be a band-aid solution until a feature is added directly within Planner to help track time spent on tasks in the future. 

What I also think would be super useful in Planner, is to be able to track time spent on a task in real time, like a stopwatch. It would be super beneficial to my work center if we could track the time a task is started, pause the task (as some other fire comes up), resume the task, and then finally complete the task. Then Planner could truly tell us how much time was spent on that task for its entirety. Then we could filter on a particular week/month and then sort that by member (Assigned To field), Bucket, or Label as needed for a Weekly or Monthly Activity Summary Report for leadership visibility. I'm very sad this isn't already possible.
