bmercer I check on the status of this nearly every day. Thanks for the humorous comment. I am starting to think they have an automated update of this item as well. I am fully expecting on 1/31 that it will be updated to a March or April 2022 due date.
chrisarmstrong Hi, what's the link to check the status for recurring tasks? It's something we have been desperately waiting for, and I'm contemplating if we should just build it via Power Automate, instead of waiting for this feature to be implemented by Microsoft.

I´m able to see that option when using MS Planner inside our 'TEAMS Team':
* In PT-BR, 'REPETIR' means 'repeat'
- rdgoliveiraSep 09, 2022Copper ContributorHow do you access the new feature?

DanielM33 It's live for me today!
- DanielM33Aug 31, 2022Copper ContributorI'm gonna feel kinda bad if they do actually release this in September - people been waiting on here for years for this to eventuate and I come along and go, oh, will be released any day now, sweet. #isthisthemonth
- srappAug 24, 2022Copper ContributorI don't plan to use MS Planner anymore, it has become a recurring joke.

We are in the process of moving to Monday.com. Not waiting around for this anymore.

bmercer, I wish this did not feel so much like a joke stringing us along. I have been waiting for this like many other people for years. It has been on the development schedule for ages. They keep moving the date as well as the forum to ask for missing features. Will I wait for another month or will I just invest the time to fix my planning yet again using Power Automate. It is so clunky.
- bmercerAug 23, 2022Iron ContributorThe recurring task that they set up to automatically extend the due date every month must be working again.

Now says August 2022. This is greatly needed to manage recurring tasks within our multiple teams.
- STran2330Mar 09, 2022Copper ContributorIt's been delayed since last year. I wouldn't be surprised if it was pushed back again.

rameshsingh The link is posted below. It currently states that it will release this month, March 2022. 🤞

It can be done with Power Automate, but it's clunky to set up, and has a crippling limitation for long-term tasks. The task must occur more often than once every 90 days or so or else it will automatically be stopped. This makes it useless for things like annual renewal reminders, for example.
This can be worked around by using more complex date evaluation logic, but that defeats the entire purpose, because it must be done for each task.
And of course, Microsoft could decide to discontinue the product at any time, so there's that.

This has becoming a recurring (running) jokechrisarmstrong
- chrisarmstrongJan 25, 2022Copper Contributorrameshsingh: You can find the status at this link. They updated the due date today to March 2022. It appears Microsoft will continue kicking this much wanted item down the road indefinitely…
