Frustrations with the New Planner Update
I was looking forward to the new Planner update, but instead of improvements, I’m seeing several changes that have negatively impacted my team’s workflow. Here are the main issues:
- "Assigned to Me" View: Previously, this view acted as a personal Planner automatically grouped by buckets, which was really helpful. Now, it’s been replaced with a simple list view, and the "Schedule" view for personal tasks has also been removed.
- Copying Plans: In the previous version, we could copy a plan and retain all the tags we'd created. Now, when copying a plan, the tasks no longer retain these tags, and when attempting to reassign them, the tags aren’t available in the copied plan.
These changes have made it more challenging for us to manage tasks effectively. Is there any way to revert to the previous version of Planner or enable these features again?

+1, we also need these functionalities working again, please help 🙉

Indeed, this planner update is a mess, Why we cannot copy tags? we have external automatized flow processes that stopped to work. This is the core of our department organization!
The change of vital functions has been a failure. Consider the millions of users who use it and have it customized, that now we are in misery. Microsoft’s unilateral changes, especially when they affect customization and vital workflow processes, can indeed cause major issues for teams relying on Planner’s stability and familiar functionalities.
Please Microsoft, allow users to come back to previous Planner!- MOssCopper Contributor
I trully endorse this!

Absolutely agree! These changes are a real setback, please bring back the previous version!

I'm very frustrated with this update also - definitely impacting my efficiency. I would love to revert back to the old version.

Passionately agree with everything being said here. Exactly what benefit was this new update supposed to provide? I JUST received buy in from my team to start using this and a week later it is basically useless. How do we revert to the last version? We are trying to stay away from 3rd party apps since Microsoft is our enterprise solution for everything else, but you just removed the remaining functionality that made it useful. What kind of QA approves what you just released - I'm baffled right now... Please fix this :-(

Regarding copying a Plan, Yes. This is a problem. I just tested this, and clicked the "labels" checkbox, and copied the plan. The copied plan is missing the labels. This is a huge problem. I have each bucket set up with a label to help streamline the content of our Onboarding plan. This is a problem that needs fixed.
Also...please allow the ability to copy the attachments as well. This is also a necessity!

I don't understand why these new changes if they won't be useful, please return to the previous version.

I fully agree!

You saved the board view in the My Plans section thankfully but to lose that view in My Tasks is a set back the list view might be useful for some but many find the board view much more effective and efficient to use.
I find myself looking for another solution outside of the Microsoft architecture.

Looks like it's on the roadmap Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365

Thanks for the info and that link. I hope it will also help people keep an eye on potential trainwrecks in Office 365.

Totally agree - The board used to be a great dashboard that I could monitor my tasks with. Now it's a pain to navigate and much harder to just see incoming requests.
Microsoft- this was just a change for the sake of change...please revert back!
