SanthoshB1 This is basic functionality. Why would Teams not allow alerting a task assignee to an update or comment? It only alerts when you change priority, so obviously it is possible. How do we get this fixed? Apparently a lot of people need this.

I have to agree this is a real problem. It's very difficult to scale planner without a way for team members to understand who is working on what tasks and where updates are being made.

unfortunately, planner is definitely not the strong point for Microsoft and there's no indication it will be improved. Another big no-go is the lack of offline option. Many ppl find best time to update this when they have no internet/on a flight etc. but without offline option it's useless.
This is why softwares like trello, monday etc are much better options for task management.
