Conversation window error

I want to link Planner to the team channel and start a conversation, but the chat window won't open.

This issue occurs on both the web and app versions of Teams, as well as on Windows and Mac. Other team members can open the chat window without any problems.

    I just checked - and this is working for me again now. Not sure if it was related to the update for Edge browser or something else - but very happy to see it working again!

    I haven't taken any other actions, but the function is working again.
    Is it the same for others?

    Still experiencing this issue with the web / browser based version.

    I've been having the same issue since 2/13. I can view the Premium Plan in Planner for Teams and Planner in a browser (Project for the web), but I can't access any task conversations regardless of where I'm viewing the plan.

    Using a PC with enterprise organization Project 365 Premium license.

    Any updates on this? I had to uninstall and reinstall MS Teams to get mine to start working again. Teams Classic Version. Still not working for me within planner on the web however. :-(

      I am still experiencing the same symptoms. Are the conversations displaying properly in the classic version of Teams? If so, could this be an issue with the new version? I have not received any separate communication from Microsoft regarding this issue.

        Yes - Conversations are working again for me in the classic version of Teams.

    The same on our side. I have issued a ticket to MS about this and I hope that they will fix it soon. It's a very poor Valentine's gift from them :P

    Update: 18.02.2025: I have re-installed the Teams app on my PC (I have not reverted to Teams Classic as I don't have this old install file). Now it works again - conversation window opens properly. However, Teams in web browser still has the same issue. I still have to confirm if re-install will help other employees in my organization but... still, it's troublesome.

    I am experiencing the same thing. The task conversation "chat" window won't open for me. 

    Was working fine yesterday.

    Update: 02/17: I had to reinstall Microsoft Teams on my PC to get this conversation view to work (also reverted to Teams Classic mode) Is still not working for me on the web / browser based version. (see video clip attached)

    Hello, we are experiencing the same issue on multiple PCs. It seems to be related to the new app version. The browser-based web version still works fine. Unfortunately, we haven’t found a solution yet—uninstalling, clearing the cache, or signing out doesn’t help.

      I was able to use the web version on Edge without any issues for a while, but now it is also not working.
      I hope Microsoft resolves this issue quickly. It's frustrating because an important feature is not working.
      It's really frustrating.
