Here is my solution:- In Planner "Export plan to Excel".
- Open Word and create a new document.
- Save this document inside of it's own folder with no other content.
- Copy the exported plan's .xlsx into that folder. You should now only have the .docx and .xlsx in the folder together.
- Back to the Word document, Go to the Mailings ribbon.
- Click Recipients > Use an Existing List.
- Browse to and select the exported plan .xlsx that is inside the same folder.
- Select the table named Tasks$ and check the box stating "First row of data contains column headers".
- In the Mailings ribbon click Insert Merge Field.
- Insert all the necessary fields into the Word document ( or all of them ) and format this template however you'd like.
- In the Mailings ribbon click Finish & Merge > Edit Individual Documents...
- Print whichever page you'd like to print for whichever task.
Once you've formatted this template however you'd like, save it and use it as your Planner printer template.
When you're ready to export again follow these steps:- Go to the folder with your .docx and .xlsx files.
- Create and new folder named "Old Exports".
- Move the .xlsx file into the Old Exports folder.
- In Planner "Export plan to Excel".
- Copy this new .xlsx file into the folder next to the .docx file.
- Open your planner template Word document.
- Click Yes when it prompts you about Data from your database will be placed in this document.
- In the Mailings ribbon click Finish & Merge > Edit Individual Documents...
- Verify that the information matches your Plan online as there is the potential to pull from the wrong .xlsx file.
Here are the issue's I've found so far with this method:- Checklist items are clumped together and don't display if they are completed or not.
- Workaround: When creating a checklist item number them in the order that you need to have them completed and rename accordingly.
- Example: "Submit Quote" should be "01-Submit Quote". When it is completed rename it to "COMPLETED-01-Submit Quote" before or after checking it off.
- Formatting in notes can cause odd characters upon export
- Avoid adding formatting or utilize Word Macros to auto format the Merged documents.

- SanthoshB1Bronze ContributorThere is no option in planner to do this. But I use to open the task and CTRL P. It provides a decent printable view of the task.
