Outlook translation is a Microsoft 365 connected experience that sends selected message content to Microsoft’s online translation service. It is not enabled by allowing one Chinese-language URL, and Microsoft does not publish a language-specific hostname. Confirm that connected experiences that analyze content are permitted by Office privacy policy and not disabled in Trust Center or Group Policy. Then use Microsoft’s current Microsoft 365 endpoint web service or published URL and IP list, selecting the correct cloud and including required Common endpoints; do not copy a static hostname from an old forum answer. Check the proxy log while reproducing Translate to identify a blocked Microsoft destination, TLS inspection failure, or authentication challenge. Because endpoints change, automate updates from the official feed instead of creating a permanent one-host exception. If translation remains unavailable after required endpoints are reachable, fully patch build 2408 and open a Microsoft support case with the proxy trace.
