Using Categories in Outlook
We use Categories in Outlook to have emails assigned to different people in our team. In the new Outlook the Categories are now inbedded in the subject line which is not very convenient for us in the way we are using the Categories. Is there a way to have it shown e.g. beside the Flag and also showing the colour of the Category instead of the Category´s name?

Has anything been done about this? Categories used to be in a separate column. Why force the category into the subject line without a way to not display it?
No. Leave suggestion and feedback for this from the Help tab or at Outlook (new) · Community
When you have the reading pane off or on the bottom (or on a wide screen), category is in front of the subject - in compact view it's under the subject.
You can sort by category - click on the word after the sort icon to change it.
Filter by category by clicking on a category in the message list or pinning the category to favorites (in View > View Settings > Accounts > Categories - set it as favorite).
