'Update your sign-in technology before September 16th, 2024 to maintain email access'.
MPanter Apoolgies, I am still confused. I am not sure why I received the email in the first place, I use the Outlook app on my phone for all my email accounts. And I use the Mac outlook app on my desktop for all email accounts. How can I check which app it is referring to? How can I check the current apps are sufficient? And that I am connected to them in the right way if that’s the issue?
Second question:
I have a 365 subscription/license for my business account but I also use the phone/desktop outlook apps to access a personal outlook account I set up 5 years ago (not on any kind of subscription). Will that be sufficient? I also use this app to connect to a number of gmail accounts.
Thanks
Option 1: Remove personal accounts only and re-add them.
Option 2: If you have trouble with your personal accounts after September 16th, download the latest Outlook app and add all email accounts. Watch the appropriate video for your mobile type (Android or iPhone).

Mac Outlook app on my desktop for all email accounts.
If you downloaded the MAC Outlook app when you purchased your business license, you may have the correct app. You can try removing only the personal accounts and re-adding them. The safest step is downloading the latest version on you your desktop and setting up personal accounts using Outlook.com Sync. The Sync Slider downloads emails older than 12 months.
Download this app: Mac App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-outlook/id985367838?mt=12

Hi there, if you are only accessing your outlook.com/hotmail.com via the web browser you will be fine. You do not need to worry about changes. The changes come into play for the subset of users which are using a third party email client, or older versions of Outlook which were using basic auth and syncing via imap/pop. - ZeeOhSixSep 12, 2024Copper ContributorCan anyone tell me if the new Microsoft’s modern authentication methods requirement will effect the email accessed with Microsoft Hotmail outlook.live.com using an internet browser like Firefox. Microsoft says If you do not act, your third-party email apps will no longer be able to access your Hotmail email address on September 16th, 2024. But is Hotmail accessed through outlook.live.com with an internet browser a third-party email app? This too is very confusing, and seems to have a lot of people scrambling right now.
