Unable to use the new outlook for Mac

Hello! I am currently using the Legacy Outlook for Mac (version 16.75.2).

I have been told to switch to the new Outlook for Mac, but whenever I try to make the switch, the new Outlook doesn't look my emails despite leaving it on for a while. I am using google mail!

Any advise on this?
