Skype for Windows Desktop - Outlook 2016 integration issue: IM is turned into an email address

I have various issues with the integration of Skype for Windows Desktop ("Classic" Skype) and Outlook 2016. One remarkeble issue is that as soon Skype is launched a new "email address" is created in the Outlook 2016 contacts. This "email address", however, is the IM (Skype) address...

You can see what happens with the contacts in the image below: the upper part of the image is before Skype is launched, the lower part is after Skype is enabled:

Has anyone seen this behaviour as well? If so, anyone knows a workaround until MS has addressed this?
