Set Off-Hours for Outlook to Receive and not Send
- May 16, 2020
InesP400 As well this software was written by a Russian company. Most IT departments these days will not allow software from outside. Even if the software was written so it can be installed without ADMIN requirements, doesn't mean you should do it.

Dr_KSnider Katie, I am glad it is working for you. Remember if every method of delivering bad code to a person was picked up by all the AV products in the world, then we wouldn't have all the ransomware that has attacked hospitals, energy companies, doctor offices and more. Outlook does have the ability to set work hours to send emails, for you that would work almost all the time, in the event you need to send outside that, two clicks with Outlook and you can enter whatever time and date you want it to go out. But in most cases, you want people to see that you are working the typical hours you have not the odd times. Using this forum to sell a product, should allow everyone to start coming here to sell their add-ins and more. That is not the purpose of this forum, but definitely has resulted in some level of additional sales at least. An easy method of deciding to be safe is to ask if CERT would consider if some code or software would be accepted and used by CERT. Definitely in dealing with the hospital records and patient files. Ask the IT department at the hospital if they would use code developed by a Russian company. Or don't because you already know the answer. The hospital is a very good one, I have worked with both nurses and doctors from there, I do not want to see any problems come to them, even if someone had the best intentions. Victor, I feel you mean well, but in today's times, why not focus on selling your product within your own country?

Hi Dr_KSnider,
wow, many thanks for your kind words.
Glad to know my tiny piece of code is useful for you.

I purchased this add-in 2 years ago, and I can honestly say it has been one of the best digital purchases I ever made. I have not had any issues with it at all, nor has anything "iffy" been picked up by any of my antivirus, antimalware or any other security software at all. I have my email hooked to a HIPAA compliant relay, and they have not flagged anything as an issue. I've said it before but I'm so glad that you developed this tool. It is especially beneficial when:
1. I have an urgent request for Monday morning, and I want to make sure I remember to send it, but also want to make sure it's not buried under two days' worth of spam and other emails.2. I have a bulk distribution for research that I need to send, and I need to make sure it goes out during business hours even when I am working on the invite email over an evening/weekend time.
3. I am working late and am tired so I forgot to proofread and made an embarrassing error - gives me a chance to fix it.
And of course, the main reason I wanted this in the first place...
4. Because it helps me maintain boundaries that safeguard my out of work time by not cluing in clients/colleagues when I am working late, and then they start sending additional requests because they are also working late.

And Softpedia states it is "certified 100% clean" 😉

Victor_Ivanidze do more users care about the source of software integrated with their email program than those that do not? since you are part of a company that writes code do you know if it is possible to include in the code things that the user does not know are happening? you read all the time stories of software from other countries that governments and companies are banning because of the risk. i am glad your company is honest.

Hi sfcvan1935,
at the moment, several thousand users who run OffHours add-in don't care about the country of origin. Just FYI.
