Your mail provider isn't delivering self-sent messages back to your Inbox, or a rule/filter is moving them somewhere else. Ffirst check Spam, Archive, Trash, and any filters you've set up. If everything looks normal, try sending the same message from a different email account to see whether the issue is specific to self-addressed emails.
