Sender Profile Card
I use outlook for my personal email and work email. I have a Microsoft 365 subscription, which supposedly comes with no ads. My work emails are getting what a Microsoft support rep called a "sender Profile card" which looks and smells like a banner ad to me (just has the company name and a link to the website). This card/banner ad takes up about 20% of the viewable space of the email which is a terrible experience to get served what is pretty much an ad, even if it is meant to be a feature. The "card"(ad) doesn't have any purpose that I can tell since it is just duplicating the company's home page link that is almost always in the business' email in multiple formats (call to action button(s), company home page/Contact/Unsubscribe at the bottom, etc.), so having this "card" (ad) reduces my reading visibility by 20% just show the same information?! ... terrible design and experience. The Microsoft rep says there is no way to toggle this off. It does not happen in the Webmail version of my work mail, so it is something that Microsoft/Outlook is adding, or choosing to display, with no way to not toggle it off. This is a HUGE design error and really negative experience from a company that has been doing email for decades, which brings in to question how much effort or attention is Microsoft putting on the customer experience for this paid product. Maybe I'm just missing why this is amazing, but the Product team should be spanked for allowing such a poor experience to be shipped, with an unclear benefit to the customer, AND default (!?) AND not giving any option to remove, AND on a PAID subscription. That is a lot of negative "AND" in a row on one "feature".
